The European Commission's announced plans to create a 'vaccine passport', to facilitate safe and free movement inside the EU during the pandemic.

The Digital Green Certificate will show the person has been vaccinated against Covid-19, received a negative test result or recovered from the virus.

It will be available free of charge.

EU Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, says it will be valid in all EU Member States:

"The certificate will make sure that the results, or what it shows is data and a minimum set of data, are mutually recognised in every EU member state."

"With this digital certificate we aim to help member states re-instate freedom of movement in a safe, responsible and trusted manner."
