All Trinity College Lectures To Be Held Online Due To Coronavirus

All lectures at Trinity College will be held online for the rest of the semester due to the coronavirus.

However, tutorials, seminars and laboratory practicals will all continue to be given in the usual fashion.

It comes as Trinity College is to close a number of spaces because of Covid-19.

The College has announced it's to close the Long Room, which contains the Book of Kells, the Science Gallery and the Douglas Hyde Gallery.

A worker in Apple in Cork has tested positive for the Coronavirus.

The company which employs 6,000 people in Cork, has confirmed a worker has the infection.

A number of employees have been asked to self-isolate for 48 hours as a precaution and deep clean protocols are in operation.

The building remains open as normal.

Flights cancelled

Ryanair has suspended all flights to, from and within Italy until April 8th.

Aer Lingus has also cancelled all Italian flights from tomorrow until 3rd April.

From midnight on Friday Ryanair will suspend all flights to and from Italy, while all internal flights will cease from midnight tonight.

All affected passengers have been notified. Passengers looking to fly out of Italy can move to an earlier flight free of charge.

A choice of a full refund or travel credit will be offered to all passengers

Current situation in Ireland

So far over 1,000 thousand people in the Republic have been tested here for Covid-19 with 24 positive results.

It comes as the Tanaiste says the Government is considering a number of restrictions including extending Easter holidays for schools.

Meanwhile, the Irish Association of Funeral Directors has said funeral services for any victims of coronavirus should be delayed but the remains should be buried or cremated immediately,

It added while it makes for uncomfortable reading, it's not their intention to alarm the public or be insensitive.
