More than 22,600 refugees have arrived here since the invasion began.

A temporary rest centre for people fleeing the Ukrainian war is being set up in South Dublin.

The site in Ballyogan will accommodate around 300 refugees.

It'll allow them a place of rest before they find long term housing.

The empty warehouse, which is close to the M50, is expected to be ready by the end of the month.

The council building will be open 24-hours a day with recreational areas also planned.

Councillor Lettie McCarthy of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown county council, says other services will be available for refugees.

"We will be putting in sleeping accommodation, bathroom toilet facilities, cooking facilities, all of that," she said.

"It's the largest space we have. It's not quite ready to go but ready with some construction."
