Dublin City Council  is set to unveil detailed plans on pedestrianising Dublin city's Capel Street in March.

Councillors and the public can expect changes to be implemented by the middle of the year.

2021 Trial

The Council ran a public survey last year.

It found that 8 in 10 people wanted a permanent car ban along the street.

The Council ran a trial on the system last summer.

In a reply to Councillor Janet Horner, the council said it planned to carry out a public consultation.

It hopes to put the changes in place by May or June.
