Nearly 4.8 Million People Are Living In Ireland - Census

The first batch of Census 2016 results have been released by the Central Statistics Office.

Among the figures, it shows nearly 4.8 million people are living here, which is up 3.8% on the figures from 2011.

It also shows that broadband coverage remains a problem, with almost 1 in every 5 people not having access to broadband.

When it comes to religion, nearly half a million people stated that didn't have a religion, which is up 73.6% on 2011's stats.
