Limerick Man Jailed For Eight Years For Stabbing Man

Limerick man jailed.

A Limerick man has been jailed for eight years for stabbing a man to death, who he claimed was annoying him.

60 year old Desmond Coyle of Davis Street was found not guilty of murder but guilty of the manslaughter of Romanian national Calo Carpaci in May 2017.

He had been drinking that day when he entered the victim’s home with a knife.

He told gardai there had been incidents of ‘aggressive begging’ that led him to do what he did.

Coyle later expressed regret for the stabbing saying he was not a cruel and heartless monster.
