Long live the OG of the world wide web.

It's a sad day for dial-up, blocky screens and cream-coloured keyboards.

Internet Explorer is no longer a thing after nearly 27 years of service.

The dated web browser has been slowly phased out by Microsoft Edge.

The process started with the release of Windows 10 back in 2015.

The peak for Internet Explorer came in 2003 when it was used by 95 per cent of the market.

Nowadays, it's been replaced by Edge, Chrome and Firefox to name a few.

Microsoft had warned this day would come for years, and its usage has plummeted.

Now it enjoys less than half a per cent of the overall browsing market.
