Britney Spears' dad has been in control of her affairs since 2008

Britney Spears has pleaded with a court in the US that she wants her 'life back' as she aims to end her father's conservatorship.

Her dad, Jamie, has been in control of her affairs since 2008 after a series of public breakdowns.

However, 13 years later, Britney outlined her ordeal to a judge in a hearing yesterday.

"My dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship, including my management - they should be in jail," she said.

"It's not ok to force me to do anything I don’t want to. The conservatorship should end," she added. "I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive."

She claimed in the hearing that she's being forced to use birth control to stop her from getting pregnant, adding she wants to get married and have a family.

"I feel ganged up on and I feel bullied and I feel left out and alone. And I'm tired of feeling alone."

Her solicitor Sam Ingraham III said she won't perform live ever again as long as her father is in control of her affairs and finances.

Meanwhile, Jamie Spears attorney made a statement on his behalf in the hearing.

"He is sorry to see his daughter suffering and in so much pain. Mr Spears loves his daughter and misses her very much," she said
