Galway man dies on Mount Everest

An Irish man has died while climbing Mount Everest.

It comes just a week after another Irish man went missing on the world's highest mountain.

The 360 Expeditions group says Kevin Hynes from Galway passed away this morning.

It's described the 56-year-old as "one of the strongest and most experienced climbers" on its team.

After reaching Camp 3 on Wednesday, Kevin was accompanied back down the mountain while the team's summit climbers headed higher.

He died in his tent at 7,000m in the early hours of this morning.

Kevin's death comes just a week after Irish Professor Seamus Lawless went missing on Everest.

The 39-year-old from Bray in County Wicklow fell while returning from the peak of the world's highest mountain.
