3,500 people are in attendance at Ireland's first music festival in almost 16 months this afternoon.

The government pilot event is taking place at Royal Hospital Kilmainham and got underway at 3pm.

Anyone heading along had to take a rapid antigen test and will need to stay in pods of up to six.

Gavin James, Denise Chaila, Wild Youth and Sharon Shannon are all due to perform.

Antigen testing for attendee's has been ongoing since yesterday, and Kevin O'Brien from CodeBlue says the majority of people have come back negative for Covid-19:

"We've had one positive result by antigen and we've offered that person a PCR test [...] and that will be sent up to the lab for confirmation of a positive result. It just shows the system does work and people are safe going into the event."
