Writer Peter Morgan expects filming to be paused 'out of respect'.

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth, Operation London Bridge is underway in the UK.

Netflix reportedly has had their own plans in the event of The Queen passing.

Writer Peter Morgan revealed in an email that filming will pause on Season 6 of The Crown.

Morgan, who also wrote The Queen film in 2006, says The Crown is 'a love letter' to the monarch.

Many cast and crew have paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth, including actress Helen Mirren.

She described The Queen as 'the epitome of nobility' after playing her in the 2006 movie.

"I expect we will stop filming out of respect too," Morgan said in an email yesterday.

Season 5 of The Crown is expected to be released in November, with Imelda Staunton taking the helm.
