The Department of Health has today been notified of 1,180 new cases of COVID-19.

As of 8am today, 362 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised down one from yesterday.

59 people are in intensive care up seven in the past 24 hours.

The head of the HSE says the country will hit the milestone of 90 percent of adults fully vaccinated against Covid-19 next week.

Paul Reid says more than 6.9 million doses have now been administered.

61% of 12 to 15 year old's have so far signed up for a Covid-19 vaccine.

Registration for children aged over-12 opened three weeks ago, ahead of the return to secondary schools last week.

Damien McCallion, the HSE's National Lead for the Vaccination programme, says they're happy with the level of interest so far.

Meanwhile, a selection of vaccine centres are running walk-in clinics again this weekend.

The service is available to those over the age of 12 who have yet to receive their first or second dose of a Pfizer jab.
