Game Of Thrones catch up

The long wait is over, Game Of Thrones returned to our TVs last night!

Season 8 episode 1 premiered on Sky at 2am, the same time it went out in America.

While lots of fans stayed up to watch, the majority will be sitting down tonight to catch up on all things Westeros.

With just under two years since season 7 wrapped, we could probably all do with a recap ahead of 8.1 Winterfell.

So here's our ultimate Game Of Thrones catch up:

North of the wall White Walkers attack members of the Night's Watch.
King Robert Baratheon asks Ned Stark to serve as the King's Hand. He agrees and moves to King's Landing with his daughters Arya and Sansa.
While he's gone his son Robb rules Winterfell.
Bran catches Jamie hooking up with Cersei and is pushed from a window.
Jamie is revealed as the father of Cersei's three children.
King Robert dies and Joffrey is made king.
Joffrey has Ned Stark executed.
Robb Stark is declared King of the North.
Dany Targaryen is forced by her brother Viserys to marry Khal Drogo.
Drogo murders Viserys.
She falls in love with him, but he and their unborn child die.
Dany gains three dragon eggs and becomes the Mother of Dragons.
Jon joins the Night's Watch and gains a Valyrian steel sword called Longclaw.

The war of the Five Kings begins as Joffry Lannister, Stannis and Renly Baratheon, Robb Stark and Balon Greyjoy fight for the throne.
We meet Red Priestess Melisandre who gives birth to a smoke baby.
Caitlyn Stark attempts to form an alliance with the Baratheon brothers but fails.
The smoke baby kills Renly and Caitlyn is blamed.
However, she is protected by Brienne of Tarth.
Brienne is tasked with bringing Jamie Lannister to Kings Landing in exchange for Arya and Sansa.
Arya is already on her way North when she is imprisoned by Tywin Lannister.
She escapes and frees Jaqen H'ghar.
Joffrey chooses to marry Margaery Tyrell instead of Sansa.
Tyrion Lannister obliterates Stannis' fleet with wildfire.
Theon Greyjoy turns on House Stark.
Bran, Rickon, Hodor and Osha escape Winterfell.
Dany plots to take over the throne and visits Qarth.
Jon goes on a Night's Watch expedition north of the wall.
He learns of the White Walkers and meets the Wildlings, including future hook up (and wife in real life) Ygritte.
Sam Tharly gets a close up look at a White Walker.

The war of Five Kings continues.
Melisandre seduces King Robert's secret son Gendry and steels his blood
Stannis uses the blood to put a curse on Joffrey, Robb Stark and Balon Greyjoy.
Robb is losing battles and allies.
He angers House Frey by refusing to marry one of Walder Frey's many daughters.
Tywin Lannister takes over as King's Hand. He sets up Sansa with Tyrion and Cersei with Loras Tyrell.
Jamie and Brienne of Tarth are captured and Jamie loses an arm.
However, he eventually makes it home to King's Landing.
Theon Greyjoy is tortured by Ramsay Snow and becomes Reek.
Robb apologies to Walder Fray who initially accepts, but then murders him at the Red Wedding.
Arya meets The Hound and discovers her brother Robb has been murdered.
Bran is on a mission to find the mystical three-eyed raven.
Sam kills a White Walker and meets Gilly and her infant son.
Jon Snow is captured by The Wildlings but escapes.
Dany wins the devotion of slave armies The Unsullied and The Second Sons.

We meet Prince Oberyn Martell and Ellaria Sand of Dorne
They travel to King's Landing for Joffrey's wedding but Martell's real desires is to avenge his sister.
Joffrey is poisoned at his own wedding feast and Cersei blames Tyrian.
Margaery seduces new king and Joffrey's youngest brother Tommen.
Sansa escapes to The Veil with Little Finger.
Cersei demands Jamie brings her back, however he gives a Valyrian steel sword to Brienne and asks her to protect Sansa.
Tyrian requests a trial by combat for the murder of Joffrey.
Prince Oberyn Martell fights on his behalf but dies.
Tyrian escapes to Essos.
Dany finds out Jorah Mormon is a spy so she banishes him.
Meanwhile, her dragons are out of control and she's forced to imprison them.
Ramsay Snow hunts for Bran and Rickon in an attempt to take control of Winterfell.
Bran finally meets the raven who tells him he will never walk again but one day he will fly.
The Wildlings invade the Night's Watch and Ygritte dies
Arya ditches The Hound and heads off to find Jaqen H'ghar.

Cersei dreams of a witch's prophecy that claims she will lose all that she loves
This seems to be coming true as her father and son Joffrey are dead.
In an act of revenge Ellaria Sand murders Myrcella Lannister.
Cersei teams up with The Sparrows to get her own revenge.
She succeeds in having Margaery Tyrell arrested.
However, she is also arrested for incest and subjected to a walk of shame.
We meet zombie Gregor Clegane.
Tyrion and Varys go south to meet Dany, but Tyrion is captured by Jorah.
Arya is accepted into the House of Black and White where she trains to become an assassin.
However, she betrays orders and is blinded.
Little Fingers marries Sansa to Ramsay Bolton, but Theon helps her escape
Jon becomes Lord Commander of the Night's Watch
Stannis has Melisandre sacrifice his daughter to help him win the war for the North.
Jon and The Rangers battle with the White Walkers.
Defeated they watch as the Night King revives their dead comrades.
Brienne Of Tharth kills Stannis for his involvement in Renly's murder.
Jon's men attack him and leave him bleeding to death in the snow.

Melisandre brings Jon back to life.
He leaves the Night's Watch to reclaim Winterfell from the Boltons.
Rickon and Ramsay are killed at the Battle Of The Bastards.
Jaqen H'ghar gives Arya another chance but she kills the Waif and leaves the Faceless Men.
She borrows a face and murders Walder Fray.
Cersei murders hundreds of nobles including the High Sparrow and Margaery Tyrell.
Tommen kills himself as a result.
Cersei takes the throne.
Dany walks through fire and takes control of the Dothraki army.
The Greyjoys, Hourse Tyrell and House Martell pledge allegiance to Dany.
Bran's growing powers allow him to see into the past.
He learns how the White Walkers came to be and that Jon is the son of Lyanna Stark.

Dany and her troops prepare to march to King's Landing
However, her fleet is attacked by Euron Greyjoy.
Lady Olenna reveals she poisoned Joffrey and kills herself.
Dany leads the Dothraki in an attack on the Lannister army.
Arya and Bran reunite with Jon and Sansa.
Jon forms an alliance with Dany and they hook up.
Sansa watches over the North.
Little Finger tries to turn Arya and Sansa against each other but Arya kills him.
Tyrion convinces Jamie to hold peace talks and stop fighting.
Cersei agrees but changes her mind when she discovers John has pledged allegiance to Dany.
Cersei tells Jamie she's pregnant but he leaves her.
In an attempt to convince Cersei of growing danger, John and a super group travel north of the wall to capture a White Walker.
Sam and Bran discover John is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen, thus the rightful air to the throne and Dany's nephew.
The Night King's army finally breaks through the wall with thanks to their ice dragon.
