Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies have unveiled the official trailer for “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants,” giving fans their first look at the next big-screen adventure from Bikini Bottom. The film is set to splash into cinemas on 20 December 2025.

The new movie sends SpongeBob on one of his most daring missions yet. Eager to prove he’s braver than anyone gives him credit for, he chases after the legendary Flying Dutchman, a ghostly pirate known for causing trouble across the seas. His journey pulls him far beyond the borders of Bikini Bottom and into uncharted waters that no sponge has ever explored.
Longtime fans will be pleased to see the return of the show’s beloved voices, including Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke, Carolyn Lawrence, and Mr. Lawrence. They’re joined by an impressive group of guest stars such as George Lopez, Ice Spice, Arturo Castro, Sherry Cola, Regina Hall, and Mark Hamill, adding extra energy to the underwater escapade.
