It's possibly one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time, so I'm kind of glad they aren't making a sequel to The Holiday, because it could never live up to the original.
Nancy Meyers, the film's writer and director, has shut down reports of a follow-up film.
She posted a screenshot of a Daily Mail headline about a sequel featuring the original cast.
In the caption, she wrote, 'So many DM’s about this - sorry but it’s not true.'
And just like that - millions of hearts were broken.

The news of a sequel was first reported by The Sun, who claimed Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslet and Jack Black would all be returning.
A film insider said, 'The plan is to start rolling on scenes next year, primarily in the U.K. and in Europe, but the main talent are all signed up and on board.'
'It’ll be funny, poignant, and heartwarming - just what everyone wants for Christmas.'
