Jason Isaacs chats to SPIN's Sarina Bellissimo

SPIN's Sarina Bellissimo caught up with Jason Isaacs to chat about his new animated movie SCOOB! this week.

With friendship being the central theme, Sarina wanted to know a bit more about Jason's friendship with Tom Felton.

The pair played father and son Lucius and Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter and have remained close ever since.

Jason was in his late 30s when he starred in Harry Potter alongside Tom, who was only 12-years-old.

The pair formed a strong friendship due to the success of the franchise.

He explained, "The Harry Potter world never stopped being this extraordinary place to be... So circumstances have put us in the same place at the same time."

Jason went on, "So it's been a privilege to know him when he was 12, and 14, and 16, and 18, and 20..."

He admitted the pair got to know each other in a way that only relatives could.

The actor gushed, "He's just a really lovely man... And I adore him."

Jason told Sarina that being able to make yourself vulnerable to someone, is the definition of a great friendship.

The 57-year-old said, "We have opened up to each other over the years..."

"That's all of my friends, including Tom, are people with whom I would share things that I won't share on camera."

SCOOB!

Jason voices the villain Dick Dastardly in the new movie SCOOB!, which is available on demand from today.

He told Sarina that he's always loved Scooby-Doo, "I grew up with Scooby-Doo!"

"Back in the dark ages when I was a kid, there was no way of recording television so I had to run down on Sunday morning, pop myself on the couch and not move for the next three hours 'cause it was wall to wall cartoons..."

"I remember it all so vividly and I was raised on it," Jason added.
