Downton Abbey: A New Era

SPIN's Sarina Bellissimo caught up with the cast of Downton Abbey: A New Era ahead of the film's release on Friday.

She spoke to Tuppence Middleton, Robert James-Collier, Laura Carmichael and Allen Leech.

The film's sequel reunites the beloved cast as they go on a grand journey to the South of France to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess’ newly inherited villa.

Meanwhile, back at Downton a Hollywood film is being made.

In his interview with Sarina, Tom actor, Allen Leech, said he was delighted when he found out they were doing another movie.

"Every time that we say goodbye to this show, we think it's the last time, and we did that after the first movie."

"So, to get the call to know we were coming back... especially during the difficult time, during the pandemic, it was really, really special."

Sarina also talked to the cast about their time filming in France.

Lady Edith actress, Laura Carmichael said, "We had to quarantine together, which we were all nervous that meant we were going to be locked up in our rooms for 10 days."

"But actually, we really fully took over this hotel, so it was a bit like being at holiday camp."
