A Pretty Little Liars reboot is reportedly in the works.

And Riverdale fans will be happy to hear show creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is the man behind the project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter's sources, the reboot will feature brand new characters and a brand new storyline.

Aguirre-Sacasa is set to write the script for the new series, as well as executive produce.

Meanwhile a network hasn't yet been confirmed.

The publication report the project hasn't been pitched to possible buyers yet.

However, sources say bosses are hoping HBO Max will get on board as the streamer for the reboot.

Warner Bros. TV refused to comment when asked about the project by The Hollywood Reporter.

It's believed Alloy Entertainment's Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo will act as executive producers.

The production company control the rights to the series and any offshoots, as per THR.

It's unclear whether series creator I. Marlene King will play any part in the reboot.

The original series

Pretty Little Liars ran for seven seasons from 2010 to 2017.

It follows the story of five teenage girls: Spencer Hastings, Alison DiLaurentis, Aria Montgomery, Hanna Marin and Emily Fields

Their friend group falls apart after Alison goes missing.

A year later, the four girls reunite after they start receiving strange messages from a villain named, 'A.'

It takes years of torture and threats before they finally get to the bottom of these messages.

The series sparked two spin-offs: Pretty Little Liars: Ravenswood (2014) and Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists (2019).

However, they didn't do very well and only lasted one season each.

We can't wait to see what Aguirre-Sacasa has in store for us!
