Staying in today?

We've got a list of the best movies on the telly.

Grab a bowl of popcorn and enjoy!

The Waterboy

Comedy Central  18.10

Remember when Adam Sandler was funny? You could be forgiven for forgetting. One of his early films is on Comedy Central tonight though, you can clock in and pretend like the last 20 years haven't happened.

The bad news is that if you still find Adam Sandler funny, there's probably something badly wrong with you.

Star Wars: Episode IV

ITV2  18.30

A New Hope. This is the one that started it all. The one that features Luke Skywalker hanging out with his aunt and uncle and talking about friends like "Biggs" and "Tanks." Before we even meet Yoda! How far we've all come.

If you're any kind of nerd at all then you won't pass up the opportunity to meet C3PO, R2D2 and the rest of the lads for the first time again.

Up

RTÉ One  18.40

If you can make it through the tear-jerky first 10 minutes then this is one of the best movies that Pixar has ever made. Perfect if you're looking to watch something with the family.

Captain America: The First Avenger

E4 18.40

With Avengers: Endgame set to hit theatres so soon, now would probably be a smart time to rewatch as many of the MCU films as you can. The first appearance of Chris Evans as Captain America is certainly not one of Marvel's best, but it's still essential viewing for backstory.

Spectre

ITV2  20.00

This is one of the Daniel Craig Bond films, so it's pretty serious business. Also features Christophe Waltz, objectively one of the best actors around these days.

Minority Report

Sky One  21.00

Sci-fi crime film that features three oracles who can predict who is about to commit crimes and when. Fast-paced, creepy, and features a lot of Tom Cruise.

Rocky III

UTV  22.45

More Sylvester Stallone goodness on the box tonight. In case you're not good at working out which Rocky film is which, this was the first one to feature 'Eye of the Tiger.' It's also the one where Rocky fights Clubber Lang, played by Mr. T. That's right. This is the movie that spawned the catchphrase "I pity the fool."
