It's the most wonderful time of the year...festival season!

With Electric Picnic just around the corner, and music festivals happening all through the summer, it’s the perfect time to experiment with hairstyles that wouldn't necessarily function in the real world.

This summer Aussie Hair is putting miraculously conditioned hair on the main stage of this season’s biggest and best festival Electric Picnic, and bringing even more chill Aussie Vibes across the weekend with their Music Box Pop Up Tent at EP, with DJ sets, acoustic acts and more.

We’ve teamed up with Aussie to bring you easy three-minute festival hairstyles you can re-create to get luscious festival locks.

Double Dutch Braids

We've been obsessed with Double Dutch Braids ever since they burst onto the hairstyle scene last year.

This braided hairstyle is perfect for music festivals because not only is it functional, staying put while you dance during hot, dry, and dusty conditions, but it looks super chic too.

Also, here's a little hair hack: if you sleep with the braids in, you'll have beautiful, boho waves in the morning...perfect for the next day of the festival!

If your hair is feeling a little lacklustre, Aussie’s Dry Shampoo is absolutely essential. Its scent is divine, it ensures our hair won’t go limp and it will never let those roots get greasy either. Simply apply the spray to your roots and scalp. Tada!

Here's a tutorial on how to create Double Dutch Braids. Try only braiding your hair till the nape of your neck and tying your hair into two low ponytails for a quick and easy festival hair.

Space Buns

90s fashion has made a full comeback (think crop tops, chokers, platform shoes) so it's only fitting that Baby Spice's iconic double buns, now re-popularized by Miley Cyrus as Space Buns, make their own comeback as well.

You can either wear all or half your hair up, add dutch braids, a fun zig-zag part, or glitter at the roots.

To give your hair a helping hand to stay in place while you flail around in the crowd to your fav band try spraying Shine Bright Tonight Hairspray all over to hold those buns in place and this hairspray puts your do firmly in its place and still lets it shimmer and shine like a diamond.

Glitter Roots

Not only is this new trend totally awesome for hiding roots that are growing in, it's a super fun way to take your festival hairstyle to the next level.

To get this look, mix your favourite glitter with hair gel, and apply to your roots with a brush.

This is a great hairstyle for the final day of a festival! Go out with a bang. Don’t worry about getting the glitter out of your hair either with Aussie’s Colour Matte Shampoo –This will look after coloured hair- which is an absolute bonus and get all the glitter out alongside the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor and trust us, this stuff puts ALL that vibrancy back into your locks, which will be needed after a weekend on the campsite.

Festival Tip: Make sure to deep condition your hair after the festival! Treat those tresses with the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor. The deep treatment works wonders when massaged into the ends each week. You'll notice the difference straight away.
