Labrinth has posted a cryptic message about the darker side of the music industry following a recent social media outburst.
The artist, who previously worked on the hit HBO series Euphoria, had distanced himself from the show last week, declaring he was “done with this industry” in a post that was later deleted.
Now, he’s returned with a reflective — and pointed — statement shared to Instagram, comparing the industry to a place filled with “snakes” and criticising what he sees as a shift from creativity to commerce. In the post, he described how artists enter the industry as “pure creatives” but are transformed into business-driven figures, chasing success at the expense of meaningful relationships.

He also questioned the normalisation of turning music into “business transactions,” adding: “I don’t subscribe,” and expressing a desire for more genuine connections.
The post quickly drew reactions from fellow artists, with Jesy Nelson responding with applause emojis, while Diplo praised Labrinth as “the realest creative.”
The comments come just days after Labrinth’s now-deleted post bluntly stated: “I’M DONE WITH THIS INDUSTRY,” sparking concern and conversation among fans.
