The European parliament will today vote whether or not to abolish Daylight Savings Time.

This would mean that we couldn’t have to put the clocks back an hour in October and forward in March.

Researchers have suggested that the time change messes with our body clocks and has a negative impact on our health all be it temporarily.

Sean Kelly, Irish Fine Gael MEP said to the Irish Examiner that they see ‘No need’ for the clock change.

The change would mean that Ireland and the UK stay on the GMT time zone all year round instead of switching to Irish Summer time and British Summer Time in March.
