Rihanna to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show

Rihanna has been announced as next year's Super Bowl Halftime Show performer.

She first shared the news by posting a picture of her hand holding an American football.

The NFL and Rihanna's record label Roc Nation shared the same post on their accounts.

Apple Music also confirmed the news by tweeting, 'It's ON.'

'Rihanna will take the stage for the first ever Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show on 2.12.23.'

The show was previously named the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show, but Apple Music confirmed they're taking over as sponsor.

In a statement obtained by E! News, Roc Nation group founder Jay Z said: 'Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn.'

'A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever.'

'Self-made in business and entertainment.'
