St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner! 

The national holiday everyone loves, and the day where everyone claims to be Irish... just go along with it.

With snow forecast for the weekend, you'd want to wrap up in your warmest green attire, and have a snakey one (if your of age of course). It's not very often Paddy's Day falls on a Saturday so everyone will be sure to start celebrating as soon as the working day is done on Friday, and last well into Sunday night.

There's loads of activity going on around the South West, and there's sure to be great craic. 

For those of you working well...

Limerick will celebrate its largest ever St Patrick’s Festival this weekend with over 30 events taking place and thousands of musicians and spectators expected to flock to the city for the celebrations.

Meanwhile parades are also taking place across the county in Abbeyfeale, Askeaton, Ballylanders, Bruff, Castleconnell, Herbertstown, Kilfinane, Kilmallock, Newcastle West, Rathkeale.

On Sunday 18th March at 12 noon, Ireland’s only International Band Championship gets underway, with 21 marching bands from Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Germany and the United States competing in the 48th annual Limerick International Band Championship.

Check out the Panoramic Wheel & Carousel in Limerick city, and the annual St. Patrick's Day parade on both Saturday and Sunday.

St Patrick’s Weekend Unlocked 17 - 18 March at Limerick Milk Market

Jerry Fish and Brian Deady will entertain at separate gigs in the city.

Later that evening all eyes will be on King John’s Castle for St Patrick’s Festival Extravaganza as dramatic illuminations are projected onto the historic castle, followed by a spectacular fireworks display which will transform the city’s skies into an explosion of colour! Getting underway at 9pm.

 

Clare has parades taking place in Ennis (11am) Kilkee (12 noon) Sixmilebridge (12.30pm)
Killaloe/Ballina (2.30pm) Kilrush (2pm) 
Miltown Malbay (2.30pm).

 

Tipperary sees its parade kicking off at 2pm.

The St. Patrick's Day Parade in Thurles has been postponed till 4pm. 

 

The theme for the parade in Killarney for St Patrick’s Day Parade 2018 is Killarney You’re Looking Good”
