Cliona’s Foundation, a Limerick-based national charity that provides financial assistance to families of seriously ill children, is set to benefit from the third annual ‘Run for Cliona’s’ 5km Fun Run on September 10th, 2026.
Cliona’s has this year to date provided support to 133 families all over the Country & distributed €331,000. They expect this to hit 200 before year end at a cost of over €500k. In the absence of any state support events like this are crucial to them continuing their vital work

This primarily business-to-business (B2B) fundraiser brings together Limerick’s professional community—including employees from neighbouring counties - across local SMEs and multinational firms. Individuals, & groups of friends & families who want to have a great evening while also making a difference are also invited to get involved. Jointly organised and fully sponsored by Metis Ireland Financial Planning, MHP Sellors Solicitors, and Forvis Mazars, the initiative directly supports families dealing with serious childhood illnesses.
The event will begin and end at The Clayton Hotel, with participants running a scenic 5km route across Shannon Bridge and along the Condell Road embankment before returning to the hotel. On site registration opens at 5pm, for a 6:30pm start, making it an ideal post-work event for participants of all fitness levels. Online registrations are open now at https://eventmaster.ie/event/32Qjfx4tZW

With an entry fee of €25, all proceeds will go directly to Cliona’s Foundation. The first 100 registrants will receive a commemorative event T-shirt. Participants are also invited to stay afterwards for refreshments, light bites, and networking - offering a unique opportunity to connect with fellow professionals and running enthusiasts while supporting a meaningful cause.
