It has been revealed that Joaquin Phoenix will take on the role of The Joker in a new movie directed by Todd Philips with Martin Scorsese on hand as executive producer.
Warner Bros. confirmed the news, adding that the film will be darker than previous DC efforts.
This will be the first time Joaquin Phoenix has stepped into the DC Extended Universe, after winning the best actor award at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival for his recent film 'You Were Never Really Here'.
