Matt Damon leaves the country

Filming on The Last Duel has officially wrapped up.

As a result, Dalkey's pride and joy, Matt Damon, has left the building.

But before he jetted home to L.A., he sent a lovely video message to Temple Street Children's Hospital.

According to Independant.ie Matt and his family jetted off to L.A. earlier this week.

He was spotted at Dublin airport with his wife, their children, and their rescue dogs.

They left just as a level five lockdown was enforced on the country.

But before he left for America, Matt sent a lovely video message to the staff and patients at Temple Street Children's Hospital.

He said, "Hi to the staff, parents and patients at the Temple Street hospital, this is Matt Damon sending you a big hello."

"I know these last months have been brutal but you’re incredibly brave to keep going in there to get your treatments and I just want to say I think you guys are amazing, keep it up," the actor concluded.

The children's hospital shared the video online, 'Thank you so much for your words of encouragement Matt!'

The Last Duel

Matt arrived in Ireland earlier this year to film his upcoming movie The Last Duel.

However, filming was halted when the global pandemic hit.

Instead of jetting home, the actor stayed in Dalkey with his family until restrictions eased.

Before he left, SPIN caught up with him over video chat for a global exclusive interview.

He talked to us about his love for Ireland, his daughter's coronavirus diagnosis and more.

Matt and his co-stars Jodie Comer and Adam Driver wrapped up filming earlier this month.

Jodie celebrated the end of production in an emotional Instagram post.
