Fantastic Four star Ioan Gruffudd and his wife Alice Evans have released a joint statement to the media.

It's after she claimed in since deleted tweets that he's leaving their family because he doesn't love her anymore.

The statement, which was released to MailOnline, reads:

'As you can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for our family and we remain committed to our children.'

'Thank you for respecting our privacy.'

The tweets

This statement follows since deleted tweets from Alice's Twitter account, claiming he doesn't love her anymore.

As quoted by MailOnline, Alice wrote, 'Sad news. My beloved husband/soulmate of 20 years, Ioan Gruffudd, has announced he is to leave his family, starting next week.'

She continued, 'Me and our young daughters girls are very confused and sad.'

'We haven't been given a reason except that he 'no longer loves me".'

'I'm so sorry.' Alice finished.

When the tweet was removed, the actress claimed it was her husband who deleted it.

According to MailOnline, she tweeted, 'Hi there. I didn't delete the tweet from a few hours ago about him leaving.'

'He did. From my account...'

She added, 'And hell yes when I am being gaslit and mentally tortured then hell yes I will wash my linen in public.'

However, this tweet has since been deleted.

Alice also replied to a Twitter user who told her, 'seems like a weird thing to be posting on Twitter.'

Alice responds

The actress responded, 'Why? I have lost my mind'

Another Twitter user empathised with her, 'I did the same when this happened to me.'

'I think it’s how one acknowledges there’s no returning to what existed before.'

Alice appreciated the comment, and replied, 'This is exactly why. And thank you.'

'Six months of harrassment: yes/no/maybe. I cannot live anymore like this'
