Bad news for Friends fans

Co-creator of Friends Marta Kauffman has shut down hopes for a Friends reboot.

Speaking to Rolling Stone Magazine she confirmed that a reboot will 'never' happen.

She said, 'The show is about a time in your life when your friends are your family. It's not that time anymore.'

Kauffman believes, 'the heart of the show would be gone.'

'I don't know what good it does us. The show is going just fine, people love it.'

She continued, sharing her opinion that a reunion, 'could only disappoint.'

The stars of the show have mixed opinions

Matt LeBlanc has been pretty vocal about his disinterest in a returning to the show.

He told Weekend Magazine, ‘I don’t want to do it. Simple.'

‘It was about a finite period in a person’s life after college, before you settle down and start a family.'

‘They would all have moved on from that period so it just wouldn’t be the same.’

However, others seem to be open to the idea.

In August Jennifer Aniston admitted she, 'fantasize[s] about it.'

'I know Matt LeBlanc doesn’t want to be asked that question anymore. But maybe we could talk him into it.'

Friends is still doing phenomenally well.

Kauffman goes on to talk about her daughter's friends who only recently discovered the show.

This may be due to the popularity of the sitcom on Netflix.

However, last month it was confirmed that Friends will be removed from the platform soon.

It seems like Warner will be moving the series to their new streaming service.

Lots of other shows including Riverdale could follow suit.

More on that here.
