So we're reaching the middle of July and asking where is our summer?

Well according to Met Eireann, temperatures will be unusually warm this week with temperatures set to rise to 27 degrees over the next few days and temperatures today reaching 25 degrees.

Tomorrow Tuesday, Ireland is predicted to be as hot as holiday hot spots, The Algarve and Lisbon!

The midlands, west and north will be treated to the best of the good weather but "it will feel fresher along the coast with sea breezes", according to the national forecaster.

The national forecaster said: "There's a risk that a spell of rain on Wednesday will turn heavy. There'll be more rain on Thursday, mostly in the west, it will sweep eastwards and clear overnight on Thursday night."

"Temperatures will be down a little in a moderate to fresh southwest wind."

"The further outlook towards the end of next week is for a cooler few days to be followed later by higher temperatures once again."

"All in all though it will remain unsettled with rain or showers at times."
