The US President is on his way to Northern Ireland to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement.

As he boarded Air Force One in Maryland, reporters asked Joe Biden about his main objective for the trip.

He said the priority is to "keep the peace."

Mr Biden's due to touch down in Belfast later tonight where he'll meet Britain's Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.

He'll later travel to the Counties Mayo, Dublin and Louth where he'll meet distant relatives as well as politicians in the Capital.

Knock-ing On The Doors Of History

Those heading to Ireland West Airport this Friday are being asked to give themselves additional time.

US President Joe Biden will arrive at Knock on Friday afternoon, and depart in the evening.

Operations will continue as normal, but road closures are expected to come into place later in the week.

It's the first time a US president will have landed at the airport.
