Three people have died after a second serious crash in Tipperary in under a week.

It happened at Windmill, Knockbulloge, near Cashel, shortly before 9pm yesterday.

Thomas O'Reilly, who was 45, Bridget O'Reilly, who was 46 and their 3-year-old grandson, Tom, died when the car they were travelling in crashed into a wall.

Two others, a man and woman, who are both 22, are being treated for their injuries at Tipperary Unicersity Hospital.

The man is said to have serious injuries, while the woman is being treated for less serious injuries.

Local politician Roger Kennedy says the community is in shock today:

"That's a dozen in the last month, on the roads in Tipperary alone," he said.

Parish Priest for Cashel and Rosegreen, Father Enda Brady, says talks about a gathering tomorrow are "in the planning stage."

Clonmel

This comes less than a week after four young people died in a serious crash near Clonmel.

The funerals for Nicole Murphy, Luke and Grace McSweeney and Zoey Coffey will take place between tomorrow (Thursday) and Saturday.

Luke was driving his sister Grace and her two friends Zoey and Nicole to a Leaving Cert results party on the night.
