Fireworks worth around €20,000 have been seized in Sligo.
Gardaí are reminding the public that fireworks are illegal in Ireland ahead of Halloween.
As part of Operation Tombola, which targets the supply of illegal fireworks, Gardaí in Sligo have seized a big quantity during a search in the area.
Misusing fireworks is dangerous and causes distress to people and pets.

Sligo Operation
Shortly after half six on Wednesday evening, Gardaí discovered a large quantity of fireworks during a search of a house in Sligo Town.
In total, around €20,000 worth of illegal fireworks were seized, as was a small quantity of suspected cocaine.
The seizure was part of Operation Tombola which sees Gardaí work with partners and stakeholders to increase understanding on the harm fireworks may cause as Halloween approaches.
The sale, possession or use of fireworks in Ireland is illegal.
It's also illegal to possess any fireworks that may have been legally purchased outside of the jurisdiction and then brought into the State.
Gardaí are reminding the public that they will confiscate any fireworks found, and those found with them are also liable to prosecution.
They also say fireworks can cause great distress to farm animals and family pets and there's always the possibility of outbreaks of fires in properties if fireworks continue to burn after landing.
