Some Irish Rail staff have cited problems with enforcing the "quiet coach" rules.

A low-noise carriage has been available on the Dublin to Cork line since November, which offers a calmer space to customers.

However, staff have informed the company that the initiative is proving difficult on match or concert days.

Employees say they're meeting confrontation when asking loud customers to lower their voices or to get off the phone.

Iarnród Eireann's Communications Manager, Barry Kenny, says there will be teething problems, but overall it's going well.
