Google To Cut 240 Jobs In Ireland As Part Of Global Layoffs

Google is cutting 240 jobs in Ireland.

It's part of a reduction in the tech giant's workforce around the world.

Google's parent company, Alphabet, announced last month it would be cutting 12,000 jobs - which is around 6 percent of it's global workforce.

Staff in Ireland were this morning informed that 240 jobs would be cut from the Irish offices.

Some of these roles include sales, technology and engineering as well as support functions.
