Two Dublin schools have shut with immediate effect after structural problems were discovered.

The schools in question are Tyrrelstown Educate Together and St Luke's National School in Mulhuddart.

More than 1200 children attend the two schools respectively.

The closures come after Ardgillan Community College in Balbriggan was forced to close one of it's buildings earlier this week after it was deemed unstable and a danger to students.

The Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, spoke earlier in The Dáil and said it's clear to him that corners were cut while schools were built during the Celtic Tiger.

He say's it's truly disgraceful in his view that schools were built without proper over site.
