Tributes Paid To 16 Year Old Josh Dunne Who Died In East Wall Stabbing

Tributes have been paid to a teenager who died following a fatal stabbing incident last night.

Named locally as Josh Dunne, the 16 year old died of his injuries in hospital, after a row in East Wall.

A post mortem examination is taking place on his body.

Another 16 year old boy was seriously injured and a man in his 20s was also hurt.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the East Wall Road/ East Road area between 9:00pm and 9:40pm last night to come forward.

Josh was a talented footballer from Ballymun.

St Kevin’s Boys Football Club say they’re devastated at his death.

Samson Samual knew the young victim.

Mr Samuel said the Josh was "quiet and well behaved" and will be remembered for his talents on the pitch.

"Anywhere we go or any team he was on - he's the best [player]."

Close-Knit Community "In Shock" Over Stabbing

Local Cllr Nial Ring  says locals are upset over what happened.

"In all the speculation I think we have to get that into our minds."

"There is a sixteen year old lad who is deceased now."

Cllr Ring said Eastwall is a close knit and quiet community.

"To have this visit upon us is shocking to a lot of people."

A GoFundMe page has been set up to go towards Josh's funeral.

So far almost €13,000 has been raised.
