Cyclists Katie-George Dunleavy, whose father is from Donegal, and pilot Eve McCrystal from Dundalk, have won silver in the Womens B-3000 metre Individual Pursuit final.

President Michael D Higgins was one of the first to congratulate the pair - while the Taoiseach Micheál Martin said they've made Ireland proud.

Eimer Breathnach, President of Paralympics Ireland, says it's a fantastic achievement:

"Eve and Katie are just phenomenal athletes, I'm totally in awe of the two of them. It makes me exhausted just looking at their training schedule. So I'm really delighted for them and I'm delighted for the whole team that are out there in Tokyo."

The win comes following Ellen Keane's Gold medal in the 100 metres breastroke earlier this week.
