Ireland's first socially assistive robot has been unveiled today.

Stevie II was showcased at an event at the science gallery in Dublin this afternoon.

It designed with the long term aim of being put into long-term care environments.

Engineers at Trinity College have also been working on various artificial intelligence pieces to upgrade its predecessor – Stevie I.

Stevie was also tested among retirement home communities in America, where he took care of residents and even called the bingo numbers.
