Olé, olé, olé.
As Team Ireland enter the final days of competition at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi, we are looking ahead to their homecoming at Dublin Airport, this Friday afternoon.
With a haul of over 70 medals (and counting), friendships and memories that will last a lifetime, it will be an emotional afternoon for our 91-strong Team Ireland squad, their families, friends, coaches, and volunteers.
Â
Matt English, chief executive of Special Olympics Ireland, said the World Games offered âlifetime experienceâ for athletes that they âmightnât get otherwiseâ.
âTheyâre making friends from all of these different countries, and within the Irish teams they are making friends for life and discovering things about themselves that they didnât know,â
SPIN South West is so proud of the Olympians and cannot wait to welcome them home this Friday.
