Revenue officers have seized illegal drugs and cigarettes worth around 136,000 euro.

They commenced separate operations in three different counties yesterday.

Dublin Mail Centre

28 parcels from the UK, USA and Canada were intercepted at the Dublin Mail Centre.

Revenue found almost four kilograms of illegal drugs inside them.

That includes herbal cannabis, cannabis oil, cannabis edibles, cocaine and butane honey oil.

The entire haul is worth about €77,500 euro.

Athlone Mail Centre

Meanwhile in Westmeath, they found 5.7 kilograms of illegal drugs.

Officers searched more packages, 23 in total, that arrived from Spain and the UK.

They discovered cannabis products, amphetamines, and sleeping tablets worth an estimated €50,000.

However the drugs were in packages that were falsely marked.

Some of the labels were 'boxing equipment' and 'beef jerky'.

So both of these operations (Dublin and Athlone) took place with the assistance of two Revenue detector dogs.

They're both called Bailey!

Rosslare Europort, Wexford

Meanwhile in Rosslare Europort, about 12,000 cigarettes branded Minsk and L and M were seized.

Revenue found those on board an Irish registered vehicle.

That was coming off a ferry from France.

Also, these cigarettes are worth about €8,500.

Finally that brings the total worth of the drugs and cigarettes to around €136,000

A Polish man in his 40s was questioned in connection with the cigarettes.

Meanwhile officers are continuing their investigations into all 3 seizures.
