A status orange low temperature/ice warning has been issued for 19 counties, including the whole South West.

It will apply from 6pm tomorrow until 12 noon on Thursday.

Warmer Weekend

Met Éireann says there are indications milder conditions will return at the weekend.

A national status yellow low temperature/ice warning remains in place until Friday for the whole country.

Met Éireann's Joanna Donnelly says there are a few difficult days ahead:

Not so much tonight, Joanna says, with temperatures only getting down to about minus 5.

"But tomorrow night we're going below that, so we've an orange warning out for tomorrow night."

Joanna added saying Thursday night will be cold as well.

So that means Thursday morning and Friday mornings will be "very tricky" mornings.

The Counties affected by the Status Orange warning are Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Galway, Leitrim, Roscommon.
