McDonald's will be swapping their plastic straws for paper ones.

They're due to start the phased roll-out of paper straws from September in all of it's 92 outlets in Ireland.

The measure is said to be coming in due to an increased customer demand, and has been praised by environmental groups.

The Environment Minister hopes other businesses will follow suit.
