Man Charged In Relation To Fatal Limerick Assault

Alan Bourke was fatally injured on April 15th.

38-year old Michael Casey of Cathedral Place appeared in court today charged with the assault of Alan Bourke.

Mr Bourke resided at a home at St Mary's Park in the city.

He was found seriously injured on the forecourt outside Colbert train station on Parnell Street on April 15th.

He later died in hospital from the injuries sustained in the assault.

Mr Casey is also charged with robbing cans of alcohol and a bike from Mr Bourke.

His solicitor said there would be no application for bail.

He will appear via video link at Limerick District Court on Tuesday.
