If you are a vegetarian, vegan or just a fan of your veggies the glorious heatwave could affect your shopping list soon.

Farmers are warning there could be vegetable shortages by next weekend if the hot weather continues.

The dry conditions mean crops aren't growing as well as usual. This will lead to a shortage of milk, potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and parsnips if the dry spell continues to wreak havoc on our farms.

Chairman of the IFA's Horticulture Committee, Paul Brophy, says "We're going to see the gaps show up from probably next weekend because the crops just aren't growing."

Farmers are also struggling to feed cows as the grass has dried out, leading to a drop in milk production.
