Heartwarming Story Of Generosity and Everton FC

Eoin Mulligan, an employee in Supermacs in Athlone ensured that one customer received an early Christmas present.

Back in August, Eoin bought a new Everton jersey for Francis, a loyal customer who always pops into Eoin to chat about football.

Francis has Asperger’s syndrome, and Eoin's kind gesture of the jersey, that had Rooney embroidered on the back, went viral.

So much so, that it caught the attention of Everton Football Club.

The club invited both Eoin and Francis over to Goodison Park for a match early in the season, but when they arrived in Liverpool, Francis became ill and had to return home.

It couldn't end with disappointment though, so Eoin set up a GoFundMe page, and to their surprise, Irish captain and Everton defender Seamus Coleman donated €2000 to get the lads back over for a match.

A fortnight ago, both Francis and Eoin were guests of honour at the Premier League match between Everton and West Ham, which Everton won 4-0 and Wayne Rooney netted a hat-trick.
