The days of a boomerang of a pint with the caption 'Terminal One' or 'Sure It Would Be Rude Not To' at half five in the morning might be coming to an end.

New legislation could see airport pubs open and close at normal drinking hours.

The decision would restrict alcohol sales as the Home Office in the UK say that flights should not be disrupted by "small minority of people."

In recent months, Ryanair have backed a two-drink limit at airports and a total ban on alcohol at airports before 10am.

Change could be on the way for Irish airports as well as airports around the world.
