Naoise the dog has reconnected with her Wicklow family.

It's after being she was lost for two weeks in the Wicklow mountains.

The 8 year old golden retriever became separated while out for a family walk with her owners on Lugnaguilla, on the 23rd of January.

Last Saturday Jean Francois and his partner Ciara Nolan were out hiking, and found Naoise in a frail state.

They managed to carry her down the mountain and contacted the Ash Animal Rescue centre in Wicklow.

The centre located her owners and returned her home.

She Was 'Petrified And Freezing Cold'

Jean said Naoise was in a very sad state when they found her:

"We were almost at the top when my girlfriend Ciara screamed, There's a dog! There's a dog!"

"The poor thing was curled up against a rock, she was petrified and freezing cold."

"She didn't even have the energy to bark or stand."

"So we covered her in spare clothes, gave her some food and started going back down the mountain."
