The Minister for Health has announced that contact tracing will be stopped in primary schools and childcare facilities from Monday.

So testing asymptomatic cases is being discontinued too.

The measures do not include special education facilities.

Children under 13 and deemed close contacts in childcare settings, will not have to restrict their movements.

However, that's unless they are advised to do so by Public Health.

Meanwhile anyone aged 13 or under who shows symptoms should self isolate rapidly and NOT go to school.

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly confirmed the move this afternoon.
