Living in a Standstill:
EvieB says “the song explores the feeling of being stuck in a rut, of questioning progress and direction in life. It speaks particularly to the uncertainty of pursuing a career in the creative industry, where the future can feel unpredictable and security hard to grasp. The track was inspired by conversations I’ve had with people across all ages and professions, which revealed just how universal this sense of unease and stagnation is. It’s a feeling that transcends career paths, prompting reflection on where it originates and how deeply it’s embedded in society”.

EvieB has performed with and supported Irish music legends such as, Mary Black, Mundy and Mary Coughlan, and also shared the stage with artists such as Sharon Shannon, Cait O’Riordan, Camille O’Sullivan amongst others. Previously championed by Hot Press, RTÉ, Ireland AM, Beta Da Silva, 2FM, the 6 O’Clock Show, amongst others, EvieB is excited to speak about her new single, recorded with long-time collaborator and producer John Reynolds.

Storytelling sits at the heart of her work, shaped by early exposure to the arts and a deep-rooted musical heritage. With a mother working in film and a father immersed in music, creativity was always a constant. Her father, renowned saxophonist Richie Buckley, has performed internationally with artists such as Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, The Cranberries, Christy Moore and Sinéad O’Connor, while her grandfather, Philip O’Brien, was a highly respected pianist. This generational connection to music is evident in EvieB’s instinctive feel for melody, emotion and expression.

Inspired by iconic songwriters including Stevie Nicks, Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell, EvieB crafts songs that feel intimate yet expansive. Long-time collaborator and producer John Reynolds (Sinéad O’Connor, Peter Gabriel, U2) brings a seasoned touch to her recordings, helping translate her narratives into delicate melodies and haunting vocal performances. Previously performed with and supported Irish legends Mary Black, Mundy and Mary Coughlan, and shared the stage with artists such as Sharon Shannon, Cait O’Riordan, Camille O’Sullivan amongst others.
EvieB released her debut single Out of the Light in March 2024, followed by Fading on Me later that year and Atlantic Way in 2025. With three acclaimed singles already released, several featured in TV soundtracks, she has quickly established herself as a compelling new voice.

Now, with a growing catalogue and a strong creative team behind her, EvieB is entering an exciting new chapter. A series of highly anticipated releases and announcements are planned for the year ahead, culminating in her debut album due for release later this year.
